Toney Olton is former educator, Vice-President of Sales with a regional life insurance company, leading the sales team in six Eastern Caribbean Territories, and a reserve officer in The Barbados Defense Force. He founded The Potter Centre, a regional training and people, leadership and organization development consultancy in 1998 and is today its Executive Director and Principal Consultant. Toney brings a rich background of training, leadership and the management of group dynamics experience to his work as a people, leadership, business and service excellence consultant, trainer, facilitator and coach. He is very highly regarded by his individual and corporate clients.
His commitment to continuous learning has seen him complete graduate studies in Management (CMD-UWI), The Psychology of Work (Leicester), and certification as an emotional intelligence practitioner, educator and assessor with 6 Seconds, the leading international Emotional Intelligence Training Consultancy and Network. He is certified in Group Facilitation Technology (Institute of Cultural Affairs), is an Institute of Leadership & Management Level 7 Executive Coach, is a certified Global NLP Master Practitioner and Social and Emotional Intelligence Coach, and John Maxwell Coach. Toney also holds advanced certification in Holistic Counseling and has completed the Franklin Covey ‘Seven Habits of Highly Effective People’ and ‘Unleashing Human Potential’ professional development programs. He is also a certified Hospitality Assured Business Advisor.
He is a member of The Caribbean Institute of Certified Management Consultants, The Institute of Leadership and Management, The International Association of Facilitators and Chair of The Caribbean Facilitators Network. Toney leads a team of consulting associates, and serves a mix private, public sector and notfor-profit organizations. Toney makes learning both fun and memorable and has earned an excellent reputation for delivering training with high and sustained impact. His skills as an executive coach and motivational speaker are also highly regarded and in much demand. Toney assigns much of his personal development and competence as a trainer, facilitator, coach and motivational speaker to his many years spent as a Toastmaster, and proudly bears the designation, Competent Communicator.
